Remaining time on display

Hello I`m new here, I`m happy owner of MZ-N510CK. I`m really satisfied with this MD player, but one thing gets me really angry. At Menu->Display you can choose what will be on the display. I like the remainig time status (1 REM i think) cos it show remaining time + name of the song. Don`t know why Sony make it this way (and don`t let you choose elapsed time + name of song), but what I really cannot understand that this setting is only TEMPORELY. First I thought that I was doing something bad, but it makes me really sad and angry when I findout that this setting is still erased to default when MD turn off.

So the question is if is there any chance to change this in software or hardware way (for example make the 1 REM the default setting).

Thanks.

P.S. I tried to search this forum for this problem but I didn`t find anything, so don`t blame me if i missed it, just post the link to it.

P.S.2 Sorry for english.

Yeah I had a rant on this "feature" of Sony portables a while back, on the T-Board...

Unfortunately it is just the way it is--you have to live with it, there's no way around it. Stupid? Yes. Annoying? Yes! Anything you can do about it? Unfortunately no. sad.gif You just have to keep doing it each time you playback an MD.

One way to shorten the process is if you have a stick remote with the "DISPLAY" button. (I think ALL LCD remotes have this button, but I'm not sure about non-LCD ones.) All you do is press the button once after you start playback and then it goes to the "1 REM" mode. You still have to press something but at least you don't have to go through the menu to do it...
